In our kitchen there use to be this door to our grocery closet but due to the lack of space the former owners took it out. But it left this gaping hole in the middle of our kitchen wall. We hired a plasterer to fix it and make it into a nice arc. Just add a 1960s curtain (Ikea) and you got yourself a nice little alcove. When the mess irritates you, just close the curtain.
