When we bought our house it was restyled into the 1990s. Which we don’t like. The toilet was tiled with big dark blue tiles and every time you were in there it just felled so small. So we had to make it more bigger and 1950s. In the Netherlands they used witjes (whites) in the old days, so this was our inspiration. These were tiles who where, you’ll never guess, white. But not all of them had the same color of white. And of course the toilets back then all had this little black edge. I also had a thing for checkered tiles on the floor. So one day I hired a tile slammer machine (from the DIY market) to get the blue tiles of the wall and I just tiled the new tiles back onto the wall. The floor was kind of the same, just stick the tiles on top of the old tiles and let it dry out. It’s much bigger now due to the white color and it’s so 1950s.
